Today our walk will be from Ferreiros to Portomarin about 10 kilometers.......mostly downhill today.
Apparently we drop 700 meters.
It isn't raining....and it isn't supposed to today....with a high of 21'C.
Many of the flowers are still in bloom in Northern Spain.
The trek seemed to go by so quickly today because of the incredible scenery.
In a word....peacefulness.
Deb placed a rock on a Camino marker in honour of her good friend Ruth who is battling a vicious illness with no cure.
She would have enjoyed this journey on the Camino.
Deb shared with her that we were doing it and she was so happy for us.
Sending her a huge hug from across the pond.
We love you Ruth and we are carrying you in our hearts on this trek.
Today we actually stopped at this lovely ladies shop. She has made Espresso with hot milk, baked goods, too many to pick only one.
Again it is by donation.
We sipped on the delicious Espresso and tasted what could be described as a cold, french toast pastry. So yummy.
Such random acts of kindness.
Cachena Cattle grazing.
These amazing cow are very hearty....known for adapting to harsh environments. They are raised for beef production.
Interesting fact is that in 1986 there were only 30 of these cows in the world. Almost becoming extinct. Today, as a result of a conscience effort to repopulate them, there are more that 5000.
The '100 km' Camino marker.
"Are we there yet Debbie?"
The trail is dotted with cafes popping up in the middle of nowhere...but such a welcoming sight for us wee walkers.
No words......just soak it in. Awwwwww
A Magpie......
I had never seen blue pumpkins...apparently there are many colours of pumpkins...
Who knew?
We are heading down hill again.
The village of Pontomarin, Spain.
We are sleeping here tonight in a hostel, above a restaurant, dorm that has 24 beds.
At 9pm it looks like there are only 4 of us in here tonight.
YES!!!!
Ok....a steep archway must be climbed before we get into the village.
It is sooooooooooo steep....yikes.
My first octopus dinner since we arrived.
Loved it...so delicious.
Such a quaint town.
The San Juan Church built in the 12th century.
In the whole of this Galicia region, this romanesque church is recognized as one of the most impressive.
This is a great Spanish village that has amazing views.....just one more blessing during our trek on the Camino.

Dear Angela and Deb, I have enjoyed following your journey so far. Thank you for placing the stone on the marker on my behalf. It is so incredibility touching. I received your message a few days ago but somehow lost it. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures once you return.
