I grabbed a few things at the local grocery store for the hike. An apple that tastes like a Chinese Pear, two persimmons, red and green grapes.....less that 5 euros!
After breakfast we see this large group of 'pilgrims' heading to the Camino.
Ok....so....a funny story....Deb and I asked if we could leave our knapsacks in the lockers until after breakfast...so heavy to carry....We would pick them up when we were ready to head to the Camino.
Unfortunately when we got back from breakfast in town, the doors were locked. Yikes.
A small language barrier I think.
No harm done. Eventually got the bags and off we go.
This is the 'Way' from the monastery.
It is actually all down hill until we hit the main road.
I felt like we were in 'Hobbiton' waiting for Frodo and Sam to jump out from behind the trees at anytime.
Such amazing gnarly trees and moss everywhere.
So here is our buddy, Winston, who wanted to follow us on the Camino.
Apparently they remind pilgrims not to let the dogs or cats follow them as they do belong to families who live on or near the Camino. These poor family pets become homeless and lost forever.
Green...green...and more green...and it is Autumn here!
A wee pit stop for this young lady in a church courtyard along the Camino near Barbadelo.
Incredible countryside of pastures, apple trees and gigantic Chestnut trees.
Everyone travels the Camino....horses....
.....and even cows.
Tomorrow is a big day....off to Ferreiros.
All up hill......
